Club News: Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski is looking to make the most of his FIFA World Cup break
Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski admits that he cannot wait to use the current World Cup break to improve his game for the second half of the season.
Kulusevski joined the north London club on loan from Juventus in January earlier this year. Since then, the 22-year-old has taken the Premier League by storm and has become one of our top performers.
A trusted player by boss Antonio Conte, the Sweden international has been a regular under him. He has made 12 appearances so far in all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting another five.
He was having a good start to this season, when unfortunately he picked up an injury during the September international break. The injury forced him on the sidelines and the Swede missed 10 games in the process.
But on his return to the team, he played like he never missed a game. He provided the assist for the winner during our thrilling 4-3 win over Leeds United earlier this month.
Speaking to SPURSPLAY (h/t Tottenham Hotspur website), the 22-year-old has admitted that he will rest this month but also work on his weakness.
“Now, I have to rest for sure because this month, I was injured, but it was like I was playing every day because there was so much pressure on everyone coming back, for me included. So, I have to rest, get completely fit and then I would love to have time to work because now we have time to work on my weaknesses.”
It is good to know that the player will be working to improve his game further. The second half of the season is congested with fixtures and it is no doubt that the Swede will likely play an important role for us.
A fan favourite, his being fit and starting games is something our fans would be desperate to see. The World Cup break has come at a good time and fans will hope that he gets all the rest needed to help us to a better second half.

He can clearly make a big impact off the bench as well as when he is starting for us in big games. Just look at the assist he provided for Harry Kane in our 2-1 loss against Liverpool and the impact he had in our comeback win against Leeds before the World Cup.
We desperately need that in the second half of the campaign. He is one of our best players and we are undoubtedly a better team with him in our squad, that is for sure.
