Tottenham Hotspur and France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris issues a battle cry ahead of the World Cup semifinal vs Morocco

Tottenham Hotspur and France number one Hugo Lloris has issued a battle cry ahead of his side’s FIFA World Cup semi-final clash against Morocco on Wednesday (December 14).

Morocco have surprised everyone so far in this year’s tournament by reaching their first semi-finals in this prestigious competition. The African nation has upset giants like Spain, Belgium and Portugal to reach the last four.

France, on the other hand, have been comfortable so far in this tournament, having only lost against Tunisia in their final group-stage game. Captain Lloris however does not want his side to take their clash with Morocco lightly.

Speaking ahead of their clash (h/t Mirror), the French international number one issued his battle-cry.

“We have to keep our focus and be precise in terms of our tactics. We are all very excited by this semi-final and looking forward to representing our country as best we can. They will be tough and it will be a hostile atmosphere in the stadium, but we will be ready and remain calm. We’ve analysed the opponent and we have to be at the top of our game. We will need to raise our level.  We need to be focused. We’ve been able to relax, but the main focus is football.”

Lloris has been his country’s number-one choice between the sticks for over a decade now. The 35-year-old is playing in his fourth World Cup, having led his side to victory in Russia in 2018.

As for Spurs, the 35-year-old has been our first-choice since making the move to north London in 2012 from Olympique Lyon. Captain for both club and country, the keeper is an inspiration to many.

This is likely to be Lloris’ last World Cup for his country and he will hope to lead his country to victory. On paper, it looks like a comfortable game for the French, but the Atlas Lions have been causing huge upsets so far and it remains to be seen if they cause another.
