Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur have five-man January shortlist including Tete and Ismaila Sarr
Tottenham Hotspur have a five-man January transfer shortlist that includes Ismaila Sarr, Tete, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Harvey Barnes, and Wilfried Zaha, as per Football.London (h/t Express).
These are all solid options. Zaha and Malinovskyi come with the added benefit of being potential free agents at the end of season given they are in the final year of their respective contracts.
The Crystal Palace winger has spent nearly the entirety of his career at Selhurst Park but now that he is 30, trying himself at a top club like Spurs could be an option. Malinovskyi has been linked with us since earlier this season.
The 29-year-old Ukraine international can play as a centre-forward, a second-striker and an attacking playmaker. Zaha, meanwhile, can play anywhere across the frontline.
Who to go after?
Barnes has been great for Leicester City this season, scoring six goals in 14 league games. But it remains to be seen if the Foxes sanction an exit for a 25-year-old England international with two and a half years still on his contract (Transfermarkt).
Sarr is another smart option to consider. Considering he is playing in the Championship with Watford, the 24-year-old Senegal international would be taking a huge step up if he joins Spurs.
In that sense, being a squad player should be a situation that Zaha and Sarr should be okay with given the leap they are taking in terms of their current clubs. But then again, that is something for the duo to decide for themselves.
Lastly, Tete would be a smart option to shore up our attack, although we do have Richarlison, Lucas Moura, and Dejan Kulusevski who can play down the right-hand side. The 22-year-old right winger is on loan at Lyon this season from Shakhtar Donetsk, and has scored six goals and provided three assists in 14 Ligue 1 games.

Zaha and Malinovskyi would be smart buys in terms of finances but the other three options aren’t shabby as well. Even one of these names arriving at N17 this winter would please the fans.
