Hakim Calhanoglu talks about Tottenham target Franck Kessie
Speaking in an interview with Gazzetta as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Hakim Calhanoglu talks about the prospects of Inter Milan signing Tottenham Hotspur target Franck Kessie.
Kessié made a name for himself at AC Milan and established himself as one of the best midfielders in the league. His dynamic performances in midfield have earned him widespread praise, and Barcelona signed him for free in the summer.
However, the Ivory Coast midfielder’s time at the Nou Camp hasn’t really gone according to plan. Kessie has struggled for game time and stylistically has not fit into Xavi Hernandez’s plans prompting calls for a transfer in the summer.
Calhanoglu who played with Kessie at AC Milan has talked about the prospect of signing his former teammate to his current club.
“Kessié is my friend, top players are always welcome here. It’s true that I’m in contact with Frank. Inter move for Kessié? He’s at Barça, but he knows that Inter are on the same level”.
Tottenham have been linked with a move for the talented midfielder. He is said to be one of the club’s priorities in the summer and he can be the solution to our long-term search for a quality midfielder.
Tottenham could certainly use a player of Kessié’s calibre to bolster their squad. The Ivorian’s energy and drive in midfield would be a valuable asset to any team, and his ability to chip in with goals would also be a welcome addition to a Spurs side that has struggled for firepower at times this season.
Despite being an absolute tank in midfield, Kessie also has the finer nuances in his game. He is good at progressing the play and his play on the ball is something that Tottenham will really enjoy.
Having a willing runner off the ball might also bring the best out of our forwards who seem to be struggling for space at times this season. With another presence for the defenders to be worried about, more space will open up in the box for Tottenham.
Barcelona signed him for a free last summer but will undoubtedly look to make as much profit as they can if they look to sell him in the upcoming window. However, with his age and profile, Tottenham must be willing to spend for Kessie.
