Fabrizio Romano claims Thomas Tuchel is a favourite for the Tottenham Hotspur job
Speaking on the YouTube channel House of Champions, popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Thomas Tuchel continues to remain a favourite for the Tottenham Hotspur job.
Romano has revealed that Tottenham have a great relationship with the agents of Thomas Tuchel and this could play a role in bringing the former Chelsea manager to N17 to take over the team.
Tuchel did a great job at Chelsea during his time at the club but fell out with new owner Todd Boehly. He was eventually sacked by the Blues but his replacement has really struggled to succeed in West London.
Tottenham’s current manager Antonio Conte does not seem like he’d stay for much longer. His comments in the media last weekend have not gone down well with the club’s hierarchy and it seems like we have reached a point of no return.
With many managerial candidates available, Romano has spoken about Thomas Tuchel as an option for Tottenham.
“I would keep an eye also on the final name, and it’s Thomas Tuchel, because Tuchel wants to return, too. Tuchel can’t wait to be back as soon as possible in football. And so at the moment, there are no contacts, but the relationship between his agent and Tottenham is excellent”
Excellent option
As far as our managerial targets go, it doesn’t get much better than Thomas Tuchel. The former Chelsea manager is an excellent tactician and could do wonders with the players at Tottenham.
Yes, Tuchel is not the only option we have. However, the pedigree that he possesses should make him one of our top targets to replace Conte. Let’s see if the club thinks in a similar manner though.
Tottenham need to figure out what they must do until the end of the season if they sack Conte. Do they go ahead and appoint a new manager right away and give him enough time with the squad or do they wait until the summer?

If the likes of Tuchel are available, we must jump at that opportunity but its the hierarchy that decides. What Daniel Levy has in his mind is something that we never know. Only time will tell how this develops.
