Tottenham on red alert as Bayern Munich sack Julian Nagelsmann to appoint Thomas Tuchel
Bayern Munich have ‘sensationally’ sacked Julian Nagelsmann, who is of interest to Tottenham Hotspur, to appoint Thomas Tuchel.
This is according to the Evening Standard, who claim that Tuchel was linked to the Spurs managerial hot seat but is now headed to the Allianz Arena. The German tactician has been a free agent since being sacked by Chelsea in September.
Bayern’s 2-1 loss against Bayer Leverkusen in Bundesliga seems to have been the final straw for the club. It is, however, a strange decision when the Bavarian giants’ results are considered this season.
They won the DFB Supercup last year, are in the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal, and trail league leaders Borussia Dortmund by just one point after 25 matches. More importantly, they thrashed Paris Saint-Germain (3-0) on aggregate in the UEFA Champions League last 16.
What should Spurs do?
This apparent sacking is as surprising as the one Chelsea carried out in September with Tuchel. Antonio Conte’s future at Spurs is dicey, to say the very least.
He is yet to renew his contract and is expected to part ways with the club in the near future. Tuchel was of interest but now Spurs fans can relax that another former Chelsea boss, in this case, a man they did not deem good enough for themselves, would be our manager again.
Jose Mourinho, Andre Villas-Boas, Conte, Jose Mourinho, and Glenn Hoddle all managed Chelsea in the past before they took the job at Spurs. Nagelsmann could be a fine pick for us.
Those who followed the young coach’s career at TSG Hoffenheim and 1899 RB Leipzig will remember how good he was at getting the best out of his players with limited resources. Naglesmann’s teams have played attractive, attacking football.

Moreover, he has vast experience in managing top teams in Germany. Being sacked by Bayern here shouldn’t be seen as a disgrace. He did well there. Hopefully, the German is one of the top names we consider if Conte leaves. It helps that he is a free agent now as well.
