Harry Redknapp plots sensational Tottenham Hotspur return
Speaking in an interview as quoted by the Mirror, Harry Redknapp has hinted at a sensational Tottenham Hotspur return with a ‘crawl’ comment.
With the team in need of a new permanent manager following the departure of Antonio Conte, Redknapp’s comments have been met with surprise reactions in a role that he occupied all those years back.
Conte’s exit two weeks ago came as a surprise to many fans, with the Italian’s explosive rant after a thrilling draw at Southampton leading to his departure. In his place, Cristian Stellini has been appointed as interim manager until the end of the season.
While some may be sceptical about his ability to lead the team to success after more than a decade out of the game, Redknapp’s record speaks for itself. However, it looks like the former manager was joking.
Redknapp was surprised to see Frank Lampard return to Stamford Bridge as interim manager. However, he believes that the opportunity was too good to turn down for Lampard, who will be hoping to guide the team to a successful end to the season.
Speaking about the situation, here is what Redknapp had to say about a return to Tottenham
“I’m ready, I’d crawl there! I still think my football advice is pretty good. To be honest I was surprised. Frank obviously had a spell at Everton and I was wondering what his future held for him in management. Would he come back in again or would he maybe work in TV as a pundit”
For Tottenham fans, the prospect of Redknapp’s return is an exciting one. While some may be sceptical about his ability to lead the team to success after so many years out of the game, his previous record at the club speaks for itself.
However, it is almost impossible to imagine this happening. We need a new manager to take the club forward with a fresh vision. A coach who can get the team to play attacking football and also win trophies.
