Tottenham face battle from Wolfsburg for Max Aarons
According to the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur may face a tough battle from Germany’s Wolfsburg in the pursuit of Norwich City’s right-back Max Aarons.
The 23-year-old Englishman has been on the radar of several clubs across Europe, with Tottenham being a long-term admirer of the defender’s talents. Aarons is very highly rated in the English circles.
Wolfsburg’s interest in Aarons was made evident when two scouts from the club watched him play in the match against Blackburn Rovers on Good Friday. Aarons was instrumental in his team’s 2-0 victory, and it is believed that the German club was impressed by his performance.
Tottenham, on the other hand, has been keeping a close eye on Aarons for some time now. Despite his growing list of suitors, Aarons has been loyal to Norwich City, turning down two offers from unnamed Premier League clubs on deadline day last month.
The right-back is determined to help his team win promotion from the Championship for the third time. Aarons has been a crucial part of Norwich City’s success in recent years, having won the Championship twice with the club in 2019 and 2021.
Aarons has been a target for several other clubs from home and abroad, including Fulham, Bournemouth, and Borussia Monchengladbach. The German club had a bid rejected for the defender in August.
Aarons is currently valued at £10 million by Norwich City, but once he enters the final year of his contract at the end of the season, he is likely to be available for a smaller fee. Tottenham must take note of this.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will be able to fend off competition from Wolfsburg in their pursuit of Aarons. The German club’s interest in the defender could make things difficult for Tottenham, who will need to act fast if they want to secure his services.

If Aarons signs for Tottenham, he’d probably give competition for Pedro Porro. What that means for Emerson Royal, who seems to be turning over a new leaf at the N17 remains to be seen.
