Inter Milan want €50 million for Tottenham Hotspur target Andre Onana
According to Tuttosport (via FCInterNews), Inter Milan want € 50 million for talented goalie Andre Onana who is on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar.
Tottenham Hotspur are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer as they prepare for life after Hugo Lloris. The Frenchman has been an ever-present between the sticks for Spurs for almost a decade, but at 34 years of age, it’s time for the club to start planning for the future.
One player who has caught the eye of Tottenham scouts is Andre Onana of Inter Milan. The Cameroonian has been in fine form this season, excelling in both Serie A and the Champions League as Inter reached the semi-finals.
It’s not just Tottenham who have been impressed, though, with Chelsea and Manchester United also said to be monitoring the situation. The Blues have been linked with Onana for some time, and with doubts still lingering over the performances of both Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
However, it’s Tottenham who are in desperate need of a new goalkeeper. While Lloris has been a great servant to the club, his performances have dipped in recent seasons, and there are now concerns about his ability to continue at the highest level.
Onana would represent a significant upgrade on Lloris, both in terms of his shot-stopping ability and his comfort with the ball at his feet. The 27-year-old is renowned for his all-round game.
The fact that Inter are reportedly willing to sell for a fee in the region of € 50 million is also encouraging. While that may seem like a lot of money, it’s a fair price for a goalkeeper of Onana’s quality, especially given the current market.
The only potential stumbling block could be the competition from Chelsea and United. Both clubs have been linked with Onana for some time, and they are both in need of a new goalkeeper as well.
