Tottenham Hotspur intend to sign Dejan Kulusevski for £30m from Juventus
Tottenham Hotspur are keen on meeting Dejan Kulusevski’s buyout clause to sign him permanently from Juventus in the summer.
This is according to the Evening Standard, who claim that Spurs would have been obligated to pay Deki’s 30million Pounds clause had they qualified for the UEFA Champions League this season. But they finished eighth.
The Sweden international signed for the Lilywhites in January 2022 on an 18-month loan deal. Under Antonio Conte and director Fabio Paratici, his permanent signing was more or less a given.
But both the Italian chiefs are not here anymore. In fact, we are without a sporting director and a permanent manager. That is obviously not going to fill anyone at Spurs with confidence about the club’s situation.
What next for Kulusevski?
Kulusevski, 23, is just starting to reach his peak years. He has barely done anything wrong on the pitch for us not to consider signing him permanently.
It would be foolish on Spurs’ part to pass up on him. The aforementioned clause is a decent amount for a player of his quality and age profile.
He has often been our main threat in attack alongside Harry Kane, with Son Heung-min and Richarlison failing to hit form at crucial points in the season.
It’s not that Kulusevski has been immune from injuries himself, but when fit and available, he is a lethal option in attack to have – one we should continue to have in the future.

For Juventus, this sum would be a welcome windfall for a player they haven’t had in their plans for a while. Hopefully, this deal goes through smoothly this summer and we strengthen our attack further, rather than letting Kulusevski return and opening up another slot we need to fill in the XI.
