Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat leaves door open for Premier League move amidst Tottenham Hotspur links
Tottenham Hotspur target Sofyan Amrabat, who plays for Fiorentina, has left the door open regarding a move to the Premier League in the future.
The Morocco international was linked with a move to the North London side in previous months when Antonio Conte was still in charge. Premier League rivals Manchester United are also a potential destination for the midfielder.
Speaking to The Times (Subscription Required) [h/t Manchester Evening News], the 26-year-old insisted on his desire to maybe one day play in the English top-flight.
”Of course, the Premier League is a fantastic league, one of the strongest in the world. It would be nice to play there one day, but it’s not that I want only to go to England, because Spain is nice, Serie A is a nice league.”
Amrabat has been at Fiorentina since 2020. After making his way through the youth ranks at FC Utrecht, where the midfielder played under the Old Trafford side’s Erik ten Hag, he went on to feature for the likes of Feyenoord and Club Brugge before landing in Italy.
Over the last three seasons, the Moroccan has put in some impressive displays for the Florence-based club. He has been a key player for the Viola.
However, the 26-year-old caught a lot of people’s attention during the 2022 World Cup. He was a key player for the Atlas Lions as they made it to the semi-final in Qatar, which was unprecedented.
Tottenham signed Yves Bissouma last summer from Brighton & Hove Albion. Unfortunately, the 26-year-old has failed to live up to expectations at the North London side so far.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg had a decent campaign. Oliver Skipp also put in some decent performances. However, defensively, our engine room has left a lot to be desired over the last few months.

Amrabat has developed into a quality enforcer at Fiorentina. His contribution in the midfield has the potential to help out the backline. However, whether the Moroccan is still of interest to Spurs after the departure of Conte remains to be seen.
