Eintracht Frankfurt confirm Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma transfer target Evan Ndicka’s departure
Last month, a report by 90min (h/t Express) claimed that AS Roma were set to reach an agreement to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka, who had drawn interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
The player is yet to choose his next club but Frankfurt have now confirmed the 23-year-old centre-back’s exit this summer. The club’s Sport director Markus Krosche told the Bundesliga club’s official website (Translated to English):
“We would have liked to have seen Evan at Eintracht Frankfurt in the future, so it’s a shame that he’s leaving us. At the same time, we would like to thank Evan for five years together, in which he performed as a regular from a young age. He has played his part in the sporting success and positive development of Eintracht Frankfurt. We wish him all the best for his future.”
Time for action. It remains to be seen where the defender is headed but it would be very disappointing if Tottenham are not all over a potential deal for him.
Ndicka to Spurs?
Ndicka (1.92m) is a towering presence at the back who is also adept at reading danger well in advance and outmuscling his opponents in and out of possession. He isn’t a slouch when it comes to his pace as well.
He has represented France in the youth brackets but is yet to make a senior appearance for Les Bleus. There is a lot of talent there waiting to be unfurled and Spurs can provide him the facilities to do just that.
Let us hope we can offer him favourable terms to bring him on board. With no transfer fees to pay, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to offer him lucrative financial incentives to choose us over the potential competition.

Cristiano Romero needs a quality partner. Eric Dier has hardly been that, while Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga can be upgraded upon. He is also a left-footed centre-back and can slot in well in the left-centre-back role; a profile we currently lack.
