Tottenham Hotspur could have edge over Arsenal in Marc Guehi pursuit
Tottenham Hotspur could apparently take a look at Crystal Palace centre-back and Arsenal target Marc Guehi, according to journalist Dean Jones.
Spurs have been interested in a move for Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, with the Englishman struggling for playing time under Erik ten Hag, as per the Telegraph (Subscription Required).
But according to Jones, Guehi is a player Spurs could consider signing. In fact, he believes that Tottenham Hotspur could be a better destination for him as they can offer him more playing time.
He exclusively told GiveMeSport:
“The Harry Maguire interest is of course going to make headlines because of who he is and where his reputation is right now, but he is not the only option out there by any means. One of the other Premier League ones we should expect them to thoroughly look into is that of Marc Guehi.”
He added:
“He is also admired by Arsenal, but Spurs might have the edge on them in terms of being able to offer regular first-team football, which is going to be vital in a season that leads into the European Championship as he will aim to be part of that England squad.”
It makes sense. Spurs definitely need a new centre-back who can offer competition to Eric Dier, who has been painfully average at times. It has become clear that Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga will struggle to become regular starters.
Joe Rodono is in the same boat. Guehi, 22, has been sensational for the Eagles since he joined them from Chelsea in the summer of 2021. He has since played 82 games for them – showing his importance to them.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes as their current first-team options with Jakub Kiwior and Rob Holding also in the mix. Hence, it could be hard for him to play regularly for the Gunners.
However, we can’t expect Guehi to come cheap, given his importance to Crystal Palace and his contract which expires only in the summer of 2026.
