Dinamo Zagreb shot-stopper Dominik Livakovic an option for Tottenham Hotspur

Dominik Livakovic, who plays for Dinamo Zagreb, is an option for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to Football Insider (h/t Fichajes).

The North London side will look to sign a new shot-stopper this summer. To that end, the Croatia international is one of the names on the Lilywhites’ shortlist as the new number one.

As things stand, the 28-year-old’s current contract with the Maksimir Stadium side is set to expire at the end of next season. Therefore, the coming weeks represent an opportunity for the Zagreb-based club to cash in on their goalkeeper.

Livakovic has been playing for Dinamo since 2016. Over the years, he has found regular game time in between the sticks in Croatian.

The shot-stopper has established himself as the number one at the Maksimir Stadium side in the last few seasons. He has now won six consecutive league titles at the Zagreb-based club.

The 28-year-old caught a lot of people’s attention in the 2022 World Cup. He put in some impressive displays as Zlatko Dalic’s team ended up finishing in third place in the prestigious competition in Qatar.

Hugo Lloris has been relied on by Tottenham for over a decade now. However, the 36-year-old has not been at his best in the last few years and the French national’s age seems to be catching up to him.

Fraser Forster is the backup goalkeeper in our squad. The English national was signed by the North London side last summer from Southampton and the 35-year-old was called upon heavily in the last few months with Lloris on the sidelines.

Spurs evidently need to plan for the future and get in a new shot-stopper. However, whether Livakovic is the one the Lilywhites will pursue to replace the 2018 World Cup winner remains to be seen.
