Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in Southampton ace James Ward-Prowse
According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham remains interested in acquiring the services of Southampton star James Ward-Prowse.
The North London club have recently made a statement of intent with the signing of James Maddison from Leicester City. However, it seems that their ambition doesn’t stop there and they want more midfield reinforcements.
The midfielder has caught the attention of several clubs, and Tottenham is among them. West Ham and Fulham are also rumoured to be in the race for his signature. Ward-Prowse is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s finest number 8s.
With an impressive tally of 17 direct free-kick goals in his Premier League career, he is just one goal behind the legendary David Beckham. Ward-Prowse’s dead-ball precision and ability to find the back of the net from long-range make him a valuable asset for any team.
Having already secured the signature of James Maddison this summer for a reported fee of £40 million, Tottenham’s squad is already bolstered with attacking talent. Maddison, predominantly an attacking midfielder during his time at Leicester City, could potentially be deployed as a number 8 under the guidance of manager Ange Postecoglou.
