Galatasaray interested in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso
Tottenham Hotspur star Giovani Lo Celso is attracting interest from Galatasaray in the ongoing transfer window, according to Turkish outlet TRT Spor.
The Super Lig outfit have made a number of additions to their team this summer. To that end, they are also looking to add reinforcements in the middle of the park and have the Argentina international on their radar.
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes is Galatasray’s top target. However, they have been unable to convince the World Cup winner so far. As a result, his compatriot and Spurs’ 27-year-old is being eyed as an alternative.
The Super Lig outfit will be playing in the Champions League next season. As things stand, the Turkish giants have been able to entice the likes of former Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha and Mauro Icardi to join on permanent transfers.
It remains to be seen whether Galatasaray will be able to get a hold of Lo Celso’s signature. His current contract at the North London side runs until June 2025.
Tottenham signed the midfielder in the summer of 2019. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old has been unable to live up to the expectations and has fallen down the pecking order season after season.
Lo Cleso spent the previous one-and-a-half campaign at Villarreal on loan before returning to the North London side this summer. At the Yellow Submarines, the Argentine was handed regular game time. However, injuries hampered him last season.
During pre-season, the midfielder has been given opportunities by Ange Postecoglou. The 27-year-old found the back of the net and put in a decent performance against West Ham United in Australia.
