Tottenham star Yves Bissouma slumps to the floor at half-time against Lion City Sailors

Football. London journalist Alasdair Gold via Twitter, who specializes in reporting Tottenham Hotspur news has revealed a potential injury to Tottenham Hotspur star Yves Bissouma in the pre-season clash against Lion City Sailors.

Tottenham who are currently on their pre-season tour took on the Singaporean football club in a friendly as they look to build to speed for what promises to be a gruelling season ahead of them.

Ange Postecoglou named a pretty strong line-up for the first-half and one of the players who was in the starting 11 was Yves Bissouma, the talented midfielder who has been putting in a string of impressive performances of late.

In what seemed to be a decision made pre-match, all 11 of Tottenham’s starters were set to be replaced at half-time by a fresh set of players and were understandably undergoing warm-down drills during this period.

The players were supposedly made to do long warm-down runs before coming off and right at the end of it, Bissouma seems to have shown some discomfort with his ankle and apparently slumped to the floor.

This has immediately set the alarm bells flying with the Mali international supposedly holding the same ankle that has troubled him since his move to Tottenham whilst going down. One still cannot determine if it is a relapse of the same problem.

Whilst we still do not know if this injury is serious, it would be such a disgrace if it were to rule Bissouma out for a long time. The talented midfielder was expected to be one of the main players for Postecoglou.

For the kind of football that the Australian wants the team to play, there isn’t a midfielder in our squad more suited than Bissouma. If he was to remain fit, there is no doubt that he would be one of the first names on the sheet.

Tottenham fans and Postecoglou will be hoping that this is just an aberration and that the injury isn’t serious. Let’s see if the gaffer has any thoughts on this post-match.
