Ange Postecoglou tells Joe Rodon and Davinson Sanchez to find new clubs
According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has told Joe Rodon and Davinson Sanchez to find new clubs this summer.
It is no secret that Rodon and Sanchez are not at all in Tottenham’s plans for the upcoming season. The North London club are actively pursuing options to sell the duo and the manager has made that really clear.
Joe Rodon, who spent last season on loan at Rennes has failed to live up to the early promise. The Welshman was once touted as a potential star for Tottenham but right now, it is best that he moves elsewhere to find a new start.
The same things can be said about Davinson Sanchez. The Colombian defender was signed to much expectations by Tottenham, and despite showing glimpses of potential, he has not lived up to the levels expected of him.
The problem with Sanchez has always been his inconsistency. There are days where he looks like a world-class defender followed by days where he cannot defend to save his life. Tottenham seem to have had enough of this.
Both players would really benefit from starting their careers afresh elsewhere. One thing that the duo have on their side is their age. They still have enough time to resurrect their careers. It just won’t be at Tottenham.
Tottenham have started making moves defensively in the transfer market. They have managed to sign Micky van de Ven from Vfl Wolfsburg. The tall pacy Dutch defender would really fortify our backline.
One thing that Tottenham cannot afford is to go into the upcoming season with a leaky backline. Shifting out the likes of Sanchez and Rodon could help us get some cash which will in turn be helpful in signing another centre-back.
