Tottenham Hotspur bid for Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze not ruled out

Crystal Palace could be approached by Tottenham Hotspur in the final weeks of the ongoing transfer window for Eberechi Eze, according to the Express.

Spurs are interested in acquiring the services of the England international this summer. As things stand, the North London side are ‘firm admirers’ of the attacking midfielder.

Tottenham have lost Harry Kane to Bayern Munich recently. The English skipper joined the Bundesliga giants, leaving a void in the Lilywhites’ forward line. To that end, the North London side could make a move for the Selhurst Park side’s 25-year-old.

Eze spent some time in the academy of our rivals Arsenal. The playmaker subsequently established himself at Queen Park Rangers before Palace came knocking for his signature in the summer of 2020.

The English national immediately became a key player for the Eagles. However, an injury in the 2021/22 term hindered his game time and development.

But Eze was once again back to his best last season. The English national played in the number eight and the attacking midfield positions in the previous campaign. He featured in every Premier League fixture for Palace, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists.

At Tottenham, we have already signed James Maddison this summer from Leicester City. The 26-year-old played behind our striker Richarlison in his Spurs debut against Brentford and grabbed two assists in the 2-2 draw.

What we seemingly require at the moment is a prolific goalscorer in our ranks. In the previous campaign, we relied on Kane to find the back of the net for us on a consistent basis.

Therefore, it would be wise for the North London side to focus on other areas of the pitch before getting Eze. While the English national is a promising talent, we arguably have other positions that need to be bolstered.
