Manchester United have Tottenham Hotspur targets Marc Guehi and Edmond Tapsoba on their radar
Tottenham Hotspur targets Marc Guehi and Edmond Tapsoba are on the radar of Premier League rivals Manchester United, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on GIVEMESPORT (h/t Express).
The Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen defenders are being eyed by the North London side. However, the Red Devils have also entered the race for the pair of centre-backs.
Erik ten Hag likes the England and Burkina Faso internationals. The Dutch manager has them on their shortlist in the ongoing transfer window. However, it remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will make a move for them.
As things stand, Harry Maguire is still at Man United. The former Leicester City star’s potential move to West Ham United seems to be off. Therefore, will the Red Devils pursue a new centre-back if the England international ends up staying? Only time will tell.
While the two Spurs targets are on the Old Trafford side’s radar, they are not their priority. Guehi, 23, and Tapsoba, 24, are not at the top of the Manchester-based club’s wishlist.
Thus, it does not look like Tottenham have too much to worry about at the moment in regards to Man United in the race for the two centre-backs. Ten Hag already has Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof in his ranks as well.
As for Spurs, we recently signed Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg. The Holland national has done well in the first two games of the 2023/24 term for the North London side.
However, we could evidently do with another central defender in our ranks. While Cristian Romero is a fantastic player, he is injury prone. On the other hand, the Lilywhites have Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez as the other two natural centre-backs in their ranks.
