Rudy Galetti confirms that Tottenham have an agreement to sell Davinson Sanchez

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has given an update that might liven up Tottenham Hotspur fans, revealing that the club is on the brink of striking a deal with Galatasaray for the transfer of Davinson Sanchez.

This news comes as a culmination of what has been an eventful transfer window for the North London outfit. Manager Ange Postecoglou’s influence on Tottenham’s transfer activities has been profound. With a vision of revamping the squad, the club has made a series of promising signings.

The acquisition of James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Alejo Veliz, and Brennan Johnson signals the intent to create a more competitive squad capable of challenging for top honours.

The departure of certain players was just as significant as the arrivals. Two defenders, Joe Rodon and Djed Spence, embarked on loan spells with Leeds United, while the versatile Japhet Tanganga and left-back Sergio Reguilon secured loan moves to Augsburg and Manchester United, respectively.

These departures reflected the manager’s desire to trim down the squad and focus on his preferred choices. Amidst all this activity, the shadow of Davinson Sanchez’s impending departure looms large. Spurs have been eager to offload the centre-back throughout the summer.

According to Galetti, the finishing touches on the transfer fee are currently being ironed out, paving the way for a final agreement. This revelation spells the end of Sanchez’s tenure at the club and signals the need for contingency planning.

With Sanchez’s impending exit, Tottenham are left with Eric Dier as the sole backup option in the heart of the defence, supported by Ben Davies, who could deputize if necessary. While this situation may raise concerns about squad depth, it also opens the door for tactical flexibility.

It could prompt Postecoglou to explore different formations or involve young prospects in the first team setup. Nonetheless, the January transfer window is what comes next, providing an opportunity to bolster the squad further.
