Brazil stars rally behind out-of-form Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison
According to Brazilian outlet OUL (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison has found support from his Brazil international teammates as his poor form in front of the goal continues.
The 26-year-old has been out-of-sorts this season and is a pale shadow of the player who was prolific for Brazil and Everton in the past. His poor run of form continued against Bolivia as he missed a gilt edged chance to get on the scoresheet.
Richarlison was taken off midway through the second half and was seen in tears on the bench. It is pretty clear that his confidence is shot and he is facing a crisis in his career for the moment.
His international teammate, Matheus Cunha has now revealed that the player is privy to support and it is a collective responsibility of the team to do their part. The Wolves ace’s family were amongst the first to console Richarlison following his Bolivia faux pas.
“Everyone will make mistakes, it’s human, and the most important thing is the selection’s victory. We have a responsibility, of course.”
Brazil face Peru in Lima next and Cunha will battle Richarlison for the starting spot upfront. Brazil boss Fernando Diniz also backed the supporters to show their sympathy and will have a difficult decision to make next time out.
“He was applauded, which shows the affection he generates among Brazilians.”
Richarlison has scored just one goal in five games across all competitions for Tottenham this season. He has struggled to make much of an impact since moving to North London and largely cuts a frustrated figure on the field.

Hopefully, the Brazilian can put Peru to the sword and use it as a base to build upon. The quicker he discovers his shooting boots, the better it is for Tottenham as well.
