Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand backs Tottenham Hotspur for Premier League glory
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand knows a thing or two about winning Premier League titles and appears to be sold on the Tottenham Hotspur side being put together by Ange Postecoglou.
The Australian boss first restored Celtic to SPL supremacy and now could write another chapter in England by ending Tottenham’s long wait for a title. Spurs are currently top of the standings, level on points with arch-rivals Arsenal but hold a superior goal difference to the Gunners.
Tottenham are yet to lose a game in the top-flight this season. Postecoglou’s men have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat several times this season, showing a previously less-seen winning mentality.

While some might dismiss it as a purple patch, some who know better are now coming out vocally in support of what is the birthing of a title charge. Going all the way would end Tottenham’s 62 year wait for a league title and also crown Postecoglou into club folklore.
Speaking on Vibe with Five on Youtube (h/t The Mirror), Ferdinand is gunning for Tottenham to go all the way and believes Postecoglou has transformed the side’s fortunes. But then, he also admits that he would not want Manchester City to make it four league titles in a row.
“I’d actually prefer Spurs. Come on Ange, come on Ange, I am Spurs mad. This geezer’s brought something into that squad that we haven’t seen for a long time.”
Pochettino, for all his promise, never managed to break out trophy hoodoo. The Argentine is currently at Chelsea, adding a sour taste to our mouths regarding his legacy at N-17. Perhaps it is apt that Postecoglou has now arrived onto the scene as our new messiah.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are all within touching distance of Tottenham and it would be crazy for us to get carried away with 30 games still to be played. But then what’s the point of football if you cannot celebrate your highs. Spurs fans have every reason to be optimistic and celebrate, wherever the road might end up leading.
