Jamie O’Hara remains cautiously optimistic regarding Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League title prospects

Long have Tottenham Hotspur being christened the moniker of bottlejobs and Jamie O’Hara is well aware of it. The former Spurs star has now weighed in on the club’s chances of ending the 62-year-old wait for a league title.

Tottenham go into the October international break as the Premier League leaders, having picked up 20 points from their first eight games of the season. We are marginally ahead of North London rivals Arsenal on goal difference as the duo looks set to bring the league crown back to the capital.

There is, however, a long way to go and it would be premature to label us as the frontrunners. While the team has shown the ability to perform under pressure, they should also be allowed to play their game without having a target painted on their back.

In a video uploaded on Instagram by theptojecttv, O’Hara has praised Ange Postecoglou for changing the aura in the Spurs dressing room since taking over in the summer. The Australian resonates with the fans and the club’s ethos, making him a messiah of sorts.

He goes on to add that Postecoglou has united the club towards a single goal and has exceeded expectations so far. Given that were akin to a ship without a compass over the last few years, Postecoglou’s approach has been a breath of fresh air.

O’Hara is staying cautiously optimistic about our chances of going all the way. He has seen far too many slip-ups over the course of his career on and off the field. While we honestly cannot blame him, we too are keeping all our fingers crossed.

“Knowing Spurs, we might bottle it but not yet”.

For now, we can celebrate the club’s turnaround in fortunes. No good thing lasts forever, and it would be wrong of us to not enjoy this moment no matter how long it might last.

Every top club has a messiah and it is time we too got ours. Postecoglou has in the past spoken about his admiration of Liverpool legend Bill Shankly. The legendary Scot helped turn the Merseysiders from a sleeping giant into a juggernaut in domestic and European football. Hopefully, Ange is now doing the same but in white.
