Tottenham Hotspur star Yves Bissouma believes he is the best player in his position in the Premier League

Yves Bissouma and his renaissance at Tottenham Hotspur this season under Ange Postecoglou deserves a separate chapter in the book and there is no doubt that he is one of the best players in the league this season.

The Mali international has taken this assessment one step further by claiming that he thinks he is the best No. 8 in the league and in his position, he is even better than the likes of Rodri and Declan Rice.

That’s quite a confident statement to be making considering how well Rice has started off at Arsenal and what Rodri has done for Manchester City throughout his time there and especially in the last year.

While some may find it cocky, it just shows how much belief Yves Bissouma has in his abilities to come out and make a statement like this. Although a very small sample size, not many of us can contest with this logic as of now.

Bissouma when in full flow is almost impossible to dispossess. He always seems to make the right decision, pick out the right teammate and it makes us realize how badly Antonio Conte used him last season.

Speaking about the situation (h/t Football. London), here is what Bissouma had to say about his stature in the Premier League

“Yes, I think it is true because I believe in myself. We have to continue with how we have because football is very tough. We have to continue to work and then one day people will see.”

Bissouma has a lot of quality. What he brings to the table is absolutely immense to the way Ange Postecoglou wants to play and it comes as no surprise that he continues to thrive week in and week out.

Going forward, Rodrigo Bentancur is going to return and take up a more prominent role. Paired with Bissouma, the duo can be a dream for Spurs and could really take the club forward in coming months.

If we are to maintain this initial momentum, it is very important that we keep the players happy. Postecoglou seems to be an expert at this so let’s see how things go.
