Dejan Kulusevski excited by Tottenham Hotspur teammate’s return for West Ham tie

Dejan Kulusevski is looking forward to Cristian Romero’s return for Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League game against West Ham United.

The Argentina international picked up an automatic three-game suspension in our 4-1 league loss against Chelsea. It has been the longest three games we have had to watch this season.

Spurs first lost 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers, a game which saw frailties in the backline with Eric Dier and Ben Davies playing centre-backs. Then came a loss to Aston Villa by the same margin.

We also let in three goals against Manchester City but rescued a point courtesy of a late header from Kulusevski. We could have conceded more in that game, and it is clear that we have missed Romero in our last three games.

Can’t wait for Cuti

So has ‘Deki’. The Sweden international has said that he is looking forward to the former Juventus centre-back’s return and that the latter would make Spurs better. He said, via the Guardian:

“[Cristian] Romero is back next game so I’m happy, he’s going to make us better.”

There is no doubt that Romero is our best defender. Micky van de Ven’s absence due to an injury has obviously hurt us too.

But Romero is more experienced and is a real leader at the back. He will undoubtedly come in and shore up our defence which has conceded 11 goals in the last four Premier League games.

It is a good occasion to come back in as well, as West Ham United won’t be an easy opponent, especially when they are playing on home turf. We cannot afford to drop more points if we really dream about winning the Premier League title.
