Manchester United legend Roy Keane scoffs at Tottenham praise for doing the bare minimum
Former Manchester United player Roy Keane has urged everyone not to go overboard with praises for Tottenham after their draw with United, in a clip posted by Sky Sports Premier League on Twitter.
Keane says,
“Spurs are having a lot of injuries, lot of problems, but they drew the game. They didn’t win at Old Trafford.”
He further added that a team must learn to deal with normal setbacks as Spurs are facing now to be called a ‘big team’. He went on to mock the ones praising Tottenham for doing the bare minimum by saying, “Even the team bus driver is earning praise.”
Roy Keane believes Tottenham Hotspur should have easily defeated a ‘struggling’ Manchester United. Despite having the home advantage, United couldn’t capitalise after leading the game twice.
On the other hand, Spurs are yet to register a win at Old Trafford after having their last victory in Manchester back in 2020. Jose Mourinho was the North London manager back then.
Roy Keane was brutal but honest
Spurs faithful might see Roy Keane’s comments as the former United man being salty about the game. However, that’s Keane. He has always been infamous for his temper and brutal opinions.
The United legend’s take on the Manchester United x Tottenham Hotspur game isn’t outrageous. Considering the current form, January’s transfer incoming and Manchester’s poor situation, the Londoners should have pulled the game in their favour.
Even the draw did not come easy for Tottenham as the Red Devils led the game on two occasions. Rasmus Hojlund’s 3rd minute goal was cancelled out but Richarlison was in the 19th minute. Rodrigo Bentacur’s strike in the 46th minute came after Marcus Rashford’s 40th-minute goal.

Spurs will have to raise their game should they achieve what they desire. The Lilywhites cannot afford to bottle their chances against small or struggling sides within the Premier League.
