Timo Werner expresses Tottenham Hotspur’s hunger for wanting more than a draw against United
Timo Werner enjoyed a fine start to his Tottenham stint but the German revealed he is hungry for more via his Instagram post. Werner took it to social media to post a picture of his moments from the game with a caption that read: “We wanted more! But still a good game from us! Very happy to made my debut for Spurs 🙏 more to come !! #COYS”
The 27-year-old assisted Rodrigo Bentancur‘s 46th-minute goal to pull things back on level for the London side. Timo Werner was deployed as a left winger. The RB Leipzig forward reprised this position after a considerable period.
Ange Postecoglou urged Werner to move to the flanks from his usual position at the centre of the opposition’s defence. The gamble paid off as Timo Werner linked up pretty well with the in-form Richarlison and also registered an assist.
The German international was substituted in the 80th minute to make way for Bryan Gil. The latter is rumoured to leave Spurs before the January transfer window shuts.
The second time is a charm?
Timo Werner’s stint was celebrated much before his arrival. However, the German forward could not live up to the expectations and registered a poor first stint in England. He moved back to Germany to rejoin his former team RB Leipzig after two sub-par seasons with the Blues.
It seems Werner has a point to prove in the Premier League. He joined London again, however this time, with his former team’s rivals. The former Chelsea forward looked confident during the game. Ange Postecoglou signed Werner as a loanee from RB Leipzig and deployed him in a match right away.
