Tottenham manager has words of praise for Tottenham Hotspur’s performance against United despite setbacks
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou showered his team with praises in the Manchester United post-match interview as reported by the UK media outlet BBC. Ange believes his team fared well against Manchester United after going down twice. He said:
“I’m delighted mate. I thought we played really well. It wasn’t the greatest of starts being a goal down particularly here. Our response was outstanding and our football after that was really good. In the second half we really controlled the game. We’ve had a really rough week off the field with illness and other things.”
The Lilywhites gaffer emphasized his side’s valour and fightback mentality despite multiple setbacks. Despite losing Harry Kane before the start of the season, Spurs registered a strong start.
Tottenham’s season however has been facing troubles in the form of injuries and suspensions. While a draw wasn’t quite the end goal for Postecoglou’s side, the boss seems happy with the result.
Ange Postecoglou shouldn’t be settling for the bare minimum
The Tottenham boss has a mammoth task lying ahead of him. His side is slowly crawling back to safety but anything less than a win isn’t acceptable. Achieving this feat while his star player Son Heung-min is away isn’t a small task.
The Aussie manager now has Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin at his dispersal. The North Londoners entered the pitch with the upper hand but faced a shockingly good Manchester United.
United has only one win from their previous six games, emphasizing Spurs’ advantage. The Lilywhites were left with good stats on paper but not quite so on the scoreline after the United clash.
