Tottenham Hotspur can benefit as FFP is coming into play to increase profit motives to sell Conor Gallagher

According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur remains interested in the Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher and now that FFP is coming into play, they might think of selling him to our side.

This week in English football, the thrill is all about Financial Fair Play (FFP), now turned into Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). The charges that were levelled against Everton and Nottingham Forest in recent times for breach of rules have attracted a lot of attention from football fans.

However, there has been the latest news of a possible transfer involving Conor Gallagher, the academy product. The 23-year-old has been a member of the club for quite some time now, having joined when he was still young. He has been serving as the team captain for much of this season, filling in where necessary seeing Ben Chilwell and Reece James are out with injuries.

Gallagher has become one of the most dependable players on Chelsea’s pitch. But the great demand for his signature may lead Chelsea to offer England international in January with a sizeable gain from selling him.

There are several aspects that have to be considered during the January transfer window when Tottenham is vying for Champions League qualification. It is also vital for them to focus on signing a central midfielder and centre defender.

While there are no immediate plans for him to leave Chelsea, there hasn’t been much headway in terms of a contract extension, despite Mauricio Pochettino’s strong interest in keeping him. If things stay the same until summer, Gallagher will have complete control over what happens next, since his contract is set to expire next year.

The recruitment team, the board and Mauricio Pochettino have hailed Gallagher for doing so well in his performances this season. Conceding on Chelsea’s financial stability, they will find it hard to turn down an offer of over £50m for their 23-year-old player.
