Tottenham Hotspur needed this one reassurance to sanction Sevilla deal for Alejo Veliz

According to the Standard, Tottenham Hotspur weren’t keen on sending 20-year-old Alejo Veliz over to Sevilla. However, the La Liga side were able to get a deal done after giving the Lilywhites complete reassurance that the Argentine would be getting regular minutes during his loan spell.

Ange Postecoglou clearly rates the young man very high. Moreover with all the young players he’s been signing will be a solid foundation for the club to build on. More playing time for Veliz will be better for his development and that’s exactly what the Greek-Australian coach wants.

The Argentine national has been impressing people since his CA Rosario days. Starting as a teenager Veliz made 63 Professional Football League appearances and also managed to bag himself 19 goals and two assists.

The Argentine is an exciting prospect and already has 73 professional football games. With a little more playing time, he will do wonders for the Spurs. Postecoglou must be counting on this since a buy option wasn’t included in the Sevilla deal.

Veliz will be back at the club next season, hopefully, the fans will finally get to see him start a few games for the team. Now that the Winter Transfer window is shut, the Spurs can finally focus on playing football again. The team has been quick to bounce back since they suffered an FA Cup heartbreak at the hands of Manchester City earlier this week.

However, since then they have already bested Brentford in a 3-2 victory and will be looking to keep the momentum going against Everton tomorrow. The team has already been full of positives this season, once their youngsters start to find their stride Postecoglou’s squad will surely be a force to be reckoned with.
