Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison posts funny picture tagging Micky van de Ven for his thunderous speed
James Maddison our talented midfielder recently posted on his Instagram Story tagging Micky van de Ven and adding a poll section stating who is faster- Maddison or Micky.
According to Squawka’s stats, in the 2-2 unfortunate draw against the relegation-threatened Everton, Van de Ven clocked a top speed of 37.38km/h. It was the highest of this season and even surpassed the one set by Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker in the 2022/23 season (37.31 km/h).
We’ve witnessed the electrifying performances of Brennan Johnson and Heung-min Son as they unleashed their explosive speed on the pitch on a number of occassions. The team managed by Ange Postecoglou is currently facing challenges in maintaining a consistent performance.
Tottenham Hotspur currently sit in fifth place in the Premier League standings. The upcoming matches will pose a significant challenge for them as they progress through the season. However, Maddison’s potential inclusion in the England squad for the upcoming European Championships in Germany has garnered considerable support. There is ample evidence to support the argument that he deserves a spot on the team and even a starting position.
We witnessed the impressive abilities of Micky van de Ven, despite his towering height. VDV has showcased his exceptional pace, which is a highly sought-after quality for a defender. Destiny Udogie was also mentioned by the Dutchman as being faster than him showing how humble he is.
On the other hand, Maddison is a standout player. It’s quite fascinating how the description of him as an “all-round, ball-winning workhorse” truly captures his impressive abilities. There are some doubts about his accuracy, as his focus is not primarily on ball-winning and work rate, which are not the aspects of his game that he is widely recognised for. He consistently demonstrates great effort and skill in recovering the ball.
