Multiple Premier League clubs vying for Marc Guehi as Crystal Palace prepare for a big sale

Marc Guehi has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park with multiple Premier League clubs eyeing his signatures going into the summer transfer window. Crystal Palace are fortifying for allure of their start defender who has been capped nine by England.

There are reports that the South London-based club are expecting a sum somewhere in the region of €58 million (£50m) for the 23-year-old defender. Crystal Palace would be looking for a club record fee which would eclipse what they received from Manchester United when they sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka five years ago.

Marc Guehi has been shining in the Palace’s colours since swapping London sides (Chelsea for Crystal Palace) for £18 million in 2021 and in three years has become the club captain for the Eagles.

Clubs in Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal as well as Tottenham Hotspur are vying for his signatures. Chelsea also have a buy-back clause in the deal that originally took Marc Guehi to Palace.

The ideal situation for the Eagles would be a bidding war to generate as much funds from his sale as they possibly can. They are already preparing for his departure from Selhurst Park. According to a report by the Daily Telegraph, the South London-based side have already started to compile a list of defensive targets who can replace Marc Guehi at the heart of defence.

The 23-year-old Cobham graduate is currently serving a spell on the sidelines after landing awkwardly on his knee against Brighton and had an operation following a setback in his rehabilitation process for his original injury. Going under the knife was successful and he is now expected to serve the injury camp for a while which comes as a major blow to Palace and England in their preparation for Euro 2024.

For Tottenham, Daniel Levy & Co. have been linked with multiple central defenders for the upcoming summer transfer window. It is to be seen if Spurs dig into the Premier League market or prefer a cheaper option from outside the country’s borders. Albeit Marc Guehi will be an exciting signing for any of the aforementioned clubs.
