Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou makes Manchester United claim in pursuit of a top-four spot
The press was once again shown their place by Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou who struck the ball out of the park when asked if Manchester United were actually posing a threat to his side in their pursuit of a top-four finish.
Eight points separate third-placed Manchester City (64) from fifth-placed Tottenham. That is the same gap between Spurs and Manchester United, who are in sixth place with 48 points. When asked if Erik ten Hag’s side are still top four rivals, here is what Big Ange had to say via The Mirror:
“Can you see us challenging Manchester City?,”
“No? Well they’re only eight points ahead of us. If there’s eight points [gap], you either think we can catch Man City who are eight points ahead of us or you think Man United can catch us.”
Fair play to Postecoglou. Give him the Press d’Or already. He has made a name for himself as someone who speaks without a filter in front of media personnel and is putting the Manchester United bloc in their place. If Tottenham, who are in decent form cannot close the eight-point gap to City, what makes a certain section of the media believe a sub-par Man United side can do it to Tottenham?
