Chris Sutton: Tottenham Hotspur making remarkable progress despite Harry Kane departure
Appointing Ange Postecoglou has brought ample amounts of positivity at Tottenham Hotspur. The Australian manager has managed to unite the supporters, staff, and chief officials in a way that the whole clubs seems like heading in the same direction.
There were doubters when he was brought in from Celtic, but the 58-year-old has exceeded expectations. He has transformed the club from a struggling elite to one of the most exciting clubs in Europe. That is commendable progress in such a short time, considering that Ange was appointed just last summer.
There is now a distinct style of play that fans associate with and a team that never gives up. A winning culture is beginning to take root at the club.
Chris Sutton writes about Tottenham’s progress in his latest column
Every step forward has been made despite the loss of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer in an initial £82 million deal. It was a move that many believed would set the club back for years. However, from a performance standpoint, it feels like Kane never left Spurs. In fact, the team’s level has improved, which is what player turned pundit Chris Sutton insists in his latest column (via. BBC)while offering Premier League predictions for the upcoming matchday weekend.
The former Celtic player asserts that Tottenham have undeniably progressed under the guidance of the Australian manager despite the departure of a marquee striker when he took charge. Sutton wrote :
“They are not on an amazing run of form at the moment but I still think they have had a great first campaign under Ange Postecoglou. He is all about performances and progress and I don’t think anyone can deny they have made progress, despite losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich just before the season started.”

There is progress and more at Tottenham Hotspur stadium, and hopefully there is much more to come under Ange. Losing Kane has not been the end of the ride for us and Spurs have shown there is still a bright future post the English legend’s departure. Hopefully, we make the most of it in the years to come and celebrate trophies to boot.
