Tottenham Hotspur star Yves Bissouma champions No Room For Racism Campaign
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma hung up his professional boots for a day and took part in a No Room For Racism campaign run by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. The Mali internationals rubbed shoulder with young footballers in the North London community in sharing the No Room For Racism message.
The event hosted by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation was held at the Douglas Eyre Sports Centre and featured under-18 teams competing in seven-a-side games. Twelve teams from both the local area and beyond participated in the event.
In addition to the games, players engaged in a workshop that included a competitive penalty shoot-out element. The shoot-out format was structured such that participants earned more attempts at goal based on their responses to questions provided by the anti-racism organization Kick It Out. This format aimed to promote awareness and education around the issue of racism within the football community.

The 27-year-old spoke to Tottenham’s official website about hosing such events and why it is special personally to take part: “It’s always good to do events like this and meet the kids, and this is why the Foundation is great. Everyone can come, play and enjoy an opportunity they might not have otherwise.
“It was a very special for me today, seeing them enjoy the activities like they did. It made me remember a lot about being young and that love for football.”
Spurs fixture against Nottingham Forest at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow is also dedicated to the No Room For Racism campaign by the Premier League. Yves Bissouma spoke about the importance of spreading the message that the game is for all and how at Tottenham we believe so and how our current squad is the epitome of the message.
“It’s important to spread the message that football is for everyone and we don’t have any room for racism. At Spurs, we have players from all over, from South America to South Korea, and we’re one because we play for one club. I’m proud to play in the Premier League. Campaigns like No Room For Racism are an example of why it’s the best league in the world.”
Taking to Instagram, former Brighton midfielder acknowledged his joy in participating in the event, as he uploaded a story with the post published by the Tottenham’s official account where he takes part in the No Room For Racism event with a caption, “Great day”.
