Brennan Johnson fit to face former club Nottingham Forest
Tottenham Hotspur are set to host Nottingham Forest later today as Ange Postecoglou’s side look to get back to winning ways after the West Ham draw in the midweek. Spurs will go into the game with high anticipation as they look to continue breathing down Aston Villa’s neck for a traditional top-four finish.
Going into the fixture, the North Londoners have a few injury concerns, which calls for the Australian gaffer to make some hard calls for the lineup. One of those late calls was from former Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson. The 22-year-old came off in the later period against West Ham after scoring Spurs’ only goal in the game.
Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Brennan Johnson is fit to face his former club.
Team News ahead of Tottenham vs Nottingham
While Brennan Johnson is confirmed fit, Richarlison is scheduled to miss the game following some knee problems. However, his rest seems like a precaution, and the Brazilian should be available against Newcastle United next weekend.
Speaking about Brennan Johnson and Richy in his pre-match press conference, Ange said (via. Football.London):
“Brennan is fine. He’s no problem. The only one is Richy. He’s had a bit of a niggle with his knee these last few weeks. We kind of feel it’s best he takes his weekend off and gets ready for Newcastle next, but everyone else is fine.”
For the hosts, the Lilywhites have four players, including Richarlison, serving on the sidelines as Ryan Sessegnon takes the bench with a hamstring injury, Manor Solomon continues his rehab from knee surgery, and Fraser Forster remains on the sidelines with foot problems.
