Lucas Bergvall is officially a Lilywhite!
Lucas Bergvall will officially become a Tottenham Hotspur player following the conclusion of his contract with Djurgarden. The talented prodigy’s new contract at White Hart Lane will commence following his £8.5 million move to the North Londoners from the Swedish side, per Football. London.
The Lilywhites reportedly have big plans for the Swede international, as they plan to integrate the 18-year-old straight into the men’s first team setup at Hotspur Way. Spurs secured his signatures on the final day of the winter transfer window; the teenager signed a five-year contract at N17 despite strapping interest from Spanish giants Barcelona. The 18-year-old chose to join Tottenham over other potential suitors, eager to make his mark in the English top tier.
Fast-tracked talent
Initially, the reports claimed that the club was planning to introduce Lucas Bergvall into the club’s academy setup before gradually moving him into the first team setup. However, the club has revised the strategy, with the teenager now set to be offered a first-team spot.
Bergvall has shown his exceptional talent in his last season on loan in the Allsvenskan. The 18-year-old prodigy made 19 appearances across all competitions, aggregating to 1506 minutes and scoring six goals while providing a further tally of five assists.
He has been impressing for the Swedish youth-level teams for a while and earned his first team cap in a friendly against Estonia in January this year.
