Presenter Will Brazier makes bold call about Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has come under pressure after a mixed start to the 2024/25 season

Just three games into the 2024/25 Premier League season and Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is seemingly under pressure.

The Lilywhites have collected just four points from a possible nine. They missed a host of chances in their opening game of the season away at Leicester City and dropped points in a 1-1 draw, with a defeat against Newcastle United at St James’ Park before the international break dampening pre-season optimism among the Tottenham faithful.

Ange Postecoglou’s aggressive, high-octane and pressing style of football has been refreshing to watch for the fans after years of dull brand of football under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. While Tottenham saw signs of improvement last season, they once again failed to end the long trophy drought.

And after Spurs CEO Daniel Levy loosened the purse strings in the past summer transfer window to recruit as many as five players, presenter Will Brazier feels Ange Postecoglou has to take the team to the next level or risk getting sacked.

When asked by The United Stand host Mark Goldbridge who will finish higher in the Premier League this season, Tottenham or Manchester United, Brazier stated he doesn’t expect either of the head coaches to be with their respective clubs by the end of 2024/25 season.

“I think the answer to that question is both of them won’t have the managers that they’ve got now, and I worry for who Spurs would appoint next. There is growing noise within the Spurs camp that just with last season, the start of this season, the next run of games, if they get that wrong,” Brazier was quoted by GIVEMESPORT.

Big Ange was extremely close

to securing Champions League football in his first season at the helm in north London, finishing just two points outside the top four with Aston Villa pipping them to the spot.

However, with a huge summer kitty being spent on top young talents with high potential, the Greek-Aussie will have an uphill task on his hands to secure Champions League football this term.

In addition, the Lilywhites also kept hold of their key performers while moving on the deadwood bar Sergio Reguilon, so there’s little excuse for Big Ange not to improve his team further. The poor start to the season has added a layer of pressure on the 59-year-old, and if Spurs loses the North London Derby on Sunday, he could start to feel the heat since his arrival at N17 for the first time.
