Tottenham-linked Marco Silva rejects new contract offer from Fulham
Despite being one step away from reaching the UEFA Europa League final, Tottenham Hotspur are contemplating parting company with Ange Postecoglou at the end of the season following a hugely disappointing Premier League campaign.
Spurs have lost a record-equalling 19 league games this season, leaving them languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table with three fixtures to go. There is every chance of the Lilywhites finishing just a place above the relegated teams.
Ahead of the second leg against Bodo/Glimt, Ange Postecoglou’s only focus will be on progressing through to the Europa League final. Not only is it the North Londoners’ sole chance of winning a trophy and ending their 17-year-long wait, but it is their final route to achieve Champions League qualification for the new campaign.

However, even if Tottenham do lift the trophy, Ange’ position at White Hart Lane is expected to be in danger after a catastrophic season saw his relationship with the fans sour. Fulham boss Marco Silva has been among the names considered by Daniel Levy to replace the Australian before the 2025/26 campaign commences.
There has now been a development involving the Portuguese tactician. According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Marco Silva has rejected a new contract offer from Fulham. There is interest in the 47-year-old from Saudi Arabia as well, with Al-Hilal hopeful of hiring him by paying a release clause that is significantly lower for clubs ‘outside of the Premier League’.
Marco Silva has done a remarkable job at Craven Cottage in recent years, leading Fulham into a battle to qualify for Europe in the closing stages of the season. The Cottagers are currently 11th in the Premier League table, just two points behind Bournemouth in eighth with three games left to play.
The Lisbon-born tactician has been linked with the Spurs job amid an expectation that he would accept an offer if one is tabled. Silva’s current contract at Fulham is set to expire in 2026, leading to the possibility he could jump ship early having turned down a new deal from his current employers.

Clearly, Silva is keeping his cards close to his chest heading into the final 12 months of his deal, with the Portuguese clarifying rumours surrounding his future that his “head is at Fulham”. Nonetheless, him rejecting a new contract offer from the West Londoners is a big boost for Tottenham.
Silva is now an experienced Premier League manager, having led clubs such as Hull City, Watford, Everton and Fulham. He is ambitions and would want to take a step up to a bigger club in his career, which Tottenham are when compared to Fulham. If the Cottagers miss out on UEFA Europa Conference League qualification, the 47-year-old may decide to move on after believing he has taken them as far he could.

If Daniel Levy thinks Silva is the right man to replace Ange and lead Tottenham’s exciting project from next season onward, he should up the ante to appoint him, as Al-Hilal are keen on the former Everton gaffer as well.
