Tottenham handed significant blow in their pursuit of ‘explosive’ Hammers ace

Tottenham are in the race to sign West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus in the summer
Tottenham are struggling to carve out positive results in the Premier League this season. The gulf between the Lilywhites and the other top teams in the league is clear to see, and fans will hope that Daniel Levy addresses that in the summer. Ange Postecoglou’s men sit 17th in the league table, and have gone on to register a staggering 21 losses in the league this season.
It has been nowhere near good enough from the North London club. While other clubs have addressed the issues and improved significantly, Spurs have taken a backwards step and struggled to win games. Due to the disastrous domestic campaign and the league position, the Lilywhites will also have to adopt a ‘sell-to-buy’ policy in the upcoming transfer window.

The North London club is facing a massive squad overhaul once the season ends. They need to cash in on the underperforming players at N17 and bring in new signings that could raise the ceiling at the club. This must be done immediately by Levy if he wants Spurs to close the gap on its rivals next season.
Tottenham lose ground in their efforts to sign West Ham star Mohammed Kudus
Tottenham have struggled in the final third of the pitch this season. Key players like Heung-Min Son and Richarlison have failed to step up for months at a stretch. Although Brennan Johnson has enjoyed a successful spell in front of goal for Ange’s side, the Welshman has not performed consistently and that has also impacted the performances on the pitch.
With Richarlison and Timo Werner heading for the exit doors in the summer, Daniel Levy is looking to bring in a new attacker to add some quality in the final third and provide squad depth. It was reported earlier last month that Spurs are interested in signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United once the season ended. The Lilywhites are long-time admirers of the prolific winger, and want to bring him to N17 quickly.
However, TBR Football has now reported that the Lilywhites are set to miss out on signing the 24-year-old. The report mentions that Saudi clubs are leading the race for the former Ajax star and Kudus prefers a lucrative move to the middle-east. The Ghana international has a £84 million release clause in his contract. But it is believed that a fee of around £65 million to £70 million will be enough to lure the winger in the summer.
Spurs will now have to look for alternatives as they aim to bolster the squad depth in the summer. The Lilywhites are also targeting Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane as a backup option if they fail to land Kudus. The Germany international is facing an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena, and Tottenham are looking to take an advantage of the opportunity to land the 29-year-old at N17.

However, signing Mohammed Kudus would have been an ideal move. The West Ham star is still young and has already proved his worth in the Premier League. He would provide a different dynamic on the right-wing as well. Signing Kudus would have meant that Brennan Johnson could have lost his place in the starting eleven.
