Ange Postecoglou confirms key star is fit and ready for Europa League final vs Manchester United.

Ange Postecoglou thrilled to have Richarlison back in the Tottenham squad ahead of Europa League showdown

Tottenham are just hours away from a chance to end their 17-year trophy drought and secure Premier League contention as they prepare to face Manchester United in the Europa League final. A win could elevate the North London side’s status among England’s elite and provide a major financial boost ahead of their planned summer overhaul.

Ange Postecoglou has shared his excitement over having one of Tottenham Hotspur’s key players fit and ready for the final. The Spurs boss spoke about the potential impact of the player, who has been sidelined for much of the season but is now set to feature on the big stage.

Tottenham’s season has been riddled with injuries from the very beginning, derailing their domestic season and leaving them in 17th with one match left to play. The injury issues continued right to the end; Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, and Lucas Bergvall are all ruled out of the match for the Europa League final.

That said, Ange Postecoglou has expressed his excitement that Richarlison is fit and available for the match as has confidence that he can play a part on the special occasion. Richarlison has had injury worries throughout the season, limiting his game time, and was expected to leave in the summer, with the interest from former club Everton appearing to be an option for the player.

The Brazilian has the perfect stage to silence his critics

Richarlison spent most of the season battling injuries, which limited his impact and led to criticism from fans and pundits alike — some even suggesting he should be shipped to Saudi. With just seven goal contributions in 22 appearances, the numbers haven’t helped his case.

But now, the Europa League final offers him a shot at redemption. Ange Postecoglou confirmed in his pre-match press conference via Youtube that the 27-year-old has pushed himself to regain fitness in time for the showdown against Manchester United. The Spurs boss also praised Richarlison’s influence in the semi-final win over Bodo/Glimt, believing he can make a big difference on the big stage.

The Gaffer speaking in the pre-game presser, is excited the Brazilian recovered in time

“Firstly, Richy, so pleased for him because he’s had a tough time, not just this year but since he’s been at Tottenham. He’s had some injury problems, he’s never really had a stretch of games. But it’s been very tough on him physically and emotionally – he’s in a really good place now, physically, he’s worked really hard on his fitness.”

“He plays with so much passion and determination – every time he plays, he gives 100 percent and he has quality as well. It’s great to have him in the team, for us, he provides something different to our other attacking players.”
