“Daniel will back him”- Tottenham legend backs Ange Postecoglou to stay at N17 after UEL success

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is facing the heat at N17 after a dismal domestic campaign
Tottenham Hotspur have reached the promised land under Ange Postecoglou this season. After years of heartbreak and near misses, the Lilywhites finally ended a 17-year wait for silverware on Wednesday night. The North London club beat Manchester United 1-0 in the final at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao. The game was anything but a comfortable watch for the fans as the Red Devils came close to scoring quite a few times.
But the biggest takeaway from the game was the fact that Ange Postecoglou managed to keep his promise of winning a trophy in his second season at a club. The Australian walked the talk and he managed to do the unthinkable by leading the club to European glory. No one would have expected that Spurs would end their trophy drought in such dramatic fashion after enduring a disastrous domestic campaign.

The players gave their all to get over the line and it was clear to see that they were fighting hard for Ange Postecoglou. The ex-Celtic boss had been under the media spotlight for all the wrong reasons in recent months, but winning the Europa League would surely etch the 59-year-old’s name in the Tottenham folklore for years to come.
Robbie Keane believes Tottenham will stick with Ange Postecoglou
There are a lot of talks regarding Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham. The Australian’s job is still under threat and it is believed that he might not survive the sack after delivering a historic result. It was reported earlier this week that Daniel Levy is still expected to sack Big Ange in the summer as the club wants to kickstart a new era heading into next season.
Now, Spurs icon Robbie Keane has given his verdict regarding Ange’s future at N17. Speaking on talkSPORT, Keane said,
“People asked me today do you think the manager will go, but how can you get rid of a manager who just won a European Cup? You need stability at the club and you’re not going to get that if you keep changing every couple of years, they need to build on this and build on momentum now. I’m sure Daniel will back him. He does back the managers, he’s spent a lot of money but they definitely need two or three players.”
Robbie Keane suggested that Tottenham cannot sack a manger that has just won a European Cup at N17. The Irishman then insisted that the club needs stability and that will not be possible to attain if Spurs keep on changing their manager every two years. Keane then added by saying that Daniel Levy usually backs the managers and he would not sack Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham need only a couple of players to get back on top.

Now one could only assume what would happen regarding Ange Postecoglou’s future at N17. The Lilywhites’ domestic campaign has been a disaster, so fans would not blame Daniel Levy if he decides to sack the Australian and bring in a new manager. However, the fans will surely hope that the potential replacement would continue with the momentum and aim for trophies next season as well.
