Tottenham Hotspur backed to return to the Premier League top six in 2025/26

Tottenham Hotspur have managed to save their blushes this season and end the campaign on a solid high. The Lilywhites ended their 17-year wait for a major trophy on Wednesday night as they beat Manchester United in the Europa league final. Ange Postecoglou’s men fought hard to get over the line to ensure that the trophy was heading back to N17.

The Europa League success is just paper over the cracks as Spurs have endured a disastrous Premier League campaign. The North London club sits 17th in the league table and they have registered 21 losses this season. Due to the poor league position, Tottenham have incurred huge financial losses as well. The Lilywhites need to adopt the ‘sell-to-buy’ policy if they want to bring in players in the summer.

While the club is celebrating its European success, it is important for Daniel Levy to not get complacent heading into the summer. The Spurs chairman needs to invest heavily into the squad if the club wants to close the gap on its rivals next season and compete for trophies. The Lilywhites must build on the Europa league success and bring in players that could improve the quality of the squad.

Chris Sutton believes Tottenham will move up the table next season

Tottenham have ended the campaign on a high after ending their long-standing trophy drought on Wednesday. It is clear to see that the players are not throwing in the towel quickly and Ange Postecoglou’s men can beat anyone on their day. Despite the poor league position, the vibe around N17 is generally positive. Fans are eager to see what the future holds for the North London club after the Europa League success.

Now, Chris Sutton also believes that Spurs would build on the Europa League win and finish strong in the Premier League next season. Talking on the BBC Radio, Sutton said (as transcribed by TBR Football),

“Because the winner – Champions League football, the money which comes with the Champions League. Same for Tottenham, but I’m absolutely convinced Tottenham will finish in the top six next season.”

Chris Sutton suggests that winning the Europa League and ensuring Champions League football would bring in a lot of money at Tottenham. The pundit also urged Spurs to get the recruitment right in the summer to compete well next season. Sutton ended by saying that he is absolutely sure that the North London club would finish in the top six next season in the Premier League.
