‘Strong’ Bundesliga defender linked with summer switch to Tottenham; he is open for PL move

Tottenham are looking to Bayern defender Min-jae Kim to their ranks for next season
Tottenham Hotspur are kickstarting a new era at N17 following the historic Europa League win. The Lilywhites managed to end the season on a high after enduring a dismal domestic campaign. Ange Postecoglou’s men not only ended the club’s long-standing trophy drought, but also ensured Champions League football for next season against all odds.
However, the North London club needs to bring in reinforcements in the summer to build on the Europa League success next season. Spurs are looking to bolster their defence in the summer as they look to close the gap on their rivals and compete on four fronts next season. There is a clear need to address the problems at the back following a series of injury crisis and inconsistent performances this season.

Key defenders Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven missed crucial parts of the season due to long-term injuries. Backup defender Radu Dragusin also ruptured his ACL midway through the campaign and has been forced to sit on the sidelines till the end of the year. January signing Kevin Danso was also forced to sit out for two months following his arrival after the Austrian endured a knee injury.
Tottenham are interested in signing Bayern defender Min-jae Kim in the summer
There is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to address the problems at the back and bring in defensive reinforcements in the summer. With Cristian Romero heading for the exit doors following Ange Postecoglou’s departure, Daniel Levy will need to find a replacement quickly that could fill the void left behind by the Argentina international at N17.
As per TBR Football, Spurs are interested in signing Min-jae Kim from Bayern Munich for next season. The Lilywhites have been long-term admirers of the South Korea international and had also tried to sign the defender before his move to Bayern Munich finalised. The current Bundesliga champions are open to let the 28-year-old leave Allianz Arena after they secured the signing of Jonathan Tah last month.
The aforementioned report also states that Tottenham are not the only ones willing to sign the ex-Fenerbahce centre-back. Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in his services and want to add his quality to their ranks for next season. It is also believed that Kim is open for a Premier League move as he looks to test himself in a new environment.
Signing Min-jae Kim would be a step in the right direction for Tottenham. The Bayern star has been a key player for Vincent Kompany as they managed to win the Bundesliga this season. As per Sofascore, the South Korean made 43 appearances this season, scoring three goals and keeping 13 clean sheets in all competitions. He had a 93% passing accuracy as well, and made 63 interceptions along the way.

He would be an ideal fit at N17 under ‘soon-to-be’ Spurs manager Thomas Frank. The 28-year-old can play out from the back and possesses a good passing range. His ability to contest for aerial duels is second to none, and he also tends to be a set-piece threat on both ends of the pitch. The ex-Fenerbahce player would be an ideal replacement of Cristian Romero as Tottenham will look to start a new era at Hotspur Way next season.
