“Go toe-for-toe”- Simon Jordan urges Daniel Levy to make good of Tottenham ambitions; will he stay true to his word?

All eyes are on Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy as the club looks to build on UEL success next season

It is understandable that Tottenham fans are worried about how the club is going to conduct its business in the transfer market. The Lilywhites have time and again failed to back the manager when it’s needed the most, and that is all because of Daniel Levy’s incompetence during his 25 years at N17. There is a reason why the North London club has only won two major trophies in the last two decades during Levy’s tenure.

The Spurs chairman has made some questionable decisions in the past that have set the club back. From sacking Mauricio Pochettino just six months after the Argentine led the club to its first Champions League final… to relieving Ange Postecoglou from his duties just two weeks after the Europa League success, Daniel Levy has always come under the media spotlight.

Now, all eyes are on the Englishman after the recent bold statement that he put out across all club channels. To everyone’s surprise, Danial Levy has come out and said that the club wants to ‘win things’ in the future following the Europa League success last month. This has already put pressure on Thomas Frank to get positive results from the get-go as he looks to kickstart a new era at N17.

Actions speak louder than words and Tottenham fans clearly know that Daniel Levy has failed to preach that during his stay at N17. The Spurs chairman must walk the talk if he really wants to win the Premier League and the Champions League in the near future. With Thomas Frank inheriting a squad that finished 17th in the league last season, Levy must bring in some reinforcements in the summer and back the Dane before next season starts.

Now, renowned pundit Simon Jordan has also urged Daniel Levy to invest in the squad in the summer. Speaking on talkSPORT (via X), Jordan said,

“Thomas is coming in and his job is to win things. I don’t think I’ve heard Daniel Levy speak so boldly about winning things. Well, he is going to have to support that because Tottenham are not operating in a vacuum. They are operating against the teams that spend lots of money.”

The pundit added,

“So Tottenham have got to go, with due respect, toe-for-toe with them. And Thomas Frank needs to be given that. Daniel’s put himself in the way of things, in terms of ‘we want to win the PL.’ Of course he is going to say that. He is not going say ‘we don’t want to win it’, is he?”

Simon Jordan believes that Daniel Levy must preach what he says and invest in the squad if he wants the club to close the gap on their rivals. The pundit adds that the Lilywhites are against teams that are spending a lot of money, so Levy must aim to go ‘toe-for-toe’ with them. Jordan also adds that Daniel Levy has put pressure on himself by suggesting that the club wants to win the Premier League in the coming years.

Fans will hope that Daniel Levy gets his act straight in the summer and brings in some players that could elevate the quality of the squad significantly. The Lilywhites have the chance of building on the Europa League success next season after a disappointing domestic campaign. Thomas Frank is expected to go all the way in a cup competition and lead the club to a top-half finish in the Premier League.
