“He is a Tottenham player”- Tottenham urged to sign former Arsenal reject with £68m release clause

Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has a choice to make in the summer amid Tottenham links
Tottenham need to be quick in the transfer market now that the managerial situation at the club is sorted out. The Lilywhites are already playing catch-up in the summer as other clubs have made several signings to strengthen their squad. The fans have also grown frustrated with the way Daniel Levy has gone about his business at N17 following the Europa League success.
The North London club must back Thomas Frank in the summer if they want to close the gap on their rivals next season. Spurs endured a disastrous domestic campaign last season, and it is clear that an upgrade is needed in all parts of the pitch for next year. They cannot rely on the same players to go again under Thomas Frank, as the Danish tactician’s setup is completely different to what Ange Postecoglou played.

With pre-season just around the corner, Spurs must find a way to cash-in on underperforming players to generate funds for new arrivals. The club is facing a lot of financial constraints as well due to the poor Premier League campaign that the club endured last season.
Tottenham are in the hunt to land Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze in the summer
There is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to bring in a versatile attacker for next season. It was reported earlier that the Lilywhites are interested in signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in the summer. The England international has a £68m release clause in his contract that needs to be triggered by a club for his services. It is also believed that the 26-year-old is open to move to N17 in the coming weeks.
Now, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham has urged Spurs to pull out all stops and sign the Palace star. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,
“Eze would be my number one target this summer. He’s got a lot of character, and he has that FA Cup win under his belt now. Eze has always been heavily linked with Tottenham. Therefore, I think this summer might be the right time to push on and sign him, as we can offer him UEFA Champions League football. I think he is a Tottenham player. He was fantastic for Crystal Palace last season. If Tottenham could sign anyone this summer, I’d want it to be Eze.”
John Wenham believes that Tottenham should prioritise signing Eberechi Eze in the summer. The Lilywhite Rose adds that the Crystal Palace star has ‘character’ and Spurs could lure him to N17 by offering Champions League football for next season. Wenham insists that the 26-year-old will fit right in at the club and Daniel Levy should do everything he can to land the versatile attacker for next season.
A former Arsenal academy reject, Eze has since gone on to carve a name for himself in the English game. He scored the winner against Manchester City in the 2024/25 FA Cup final at Wembley, further embedding his name in football folklore.

Signing Eberechi Eze will surely elevate the quality of the attack under Thomas Frank. The England international would provide a different dynamic going forward, and could thrive in different positions under the Danish tactician. Thomas Frank likes his wide players to invert in while the team has possession, and that perfectly suits Eze’s game as he plays in a similar role under Oliver Glasner at Selhurst Park.
