Tottenham hit another low point as arch rivals agree move for Thomas Frank favourite

Brentford star Christian Norgaard snubs Tottenham approach to join rivals Arsenal for next season
There have not been a lot of positive to take from Tottenham’s approach in the transfer market. The Lilywhites have just not got going since the Europa League success, and many fans believe that Thomas Frank is being set up to fail at N17. The North London club has failed to land any of its intended targets in the summer.
The arrival of Thomas Frank was expected to be a turning point in the club’s history books as fans expected Daniel Levy to back the Danish tactician in the summer. But Spurs are already playing catch-up in the transfer market, and are not looking likely to get new players in before pre-season commences.

There is an obvious need to address the problems on the pitch after the disastrous Premier League campaign that the Lilywhites endured. The North London club needs a massive revamp, and for that Daniel Levy must be willing to splash the cash and bring in reinforcements. Not only have they failed to bring in new signings, but Spurs have also failed to cash-in on underperforming players to generate funds.
Tottenham set to miss out on Brentford star Christian Norgaard
A lot of areas on the field need an upgrade as Tottenham look to compete well in the Premier League and the Champions League next season. The number six position should be the main priority though, as the Lilywhites do not have a single player in that position that could play well in Thomas Frank’s system. Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr clearly lack the quality needed on the ball to thrive in the Danish tactician’s setup.
It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Christian Norgaard from Brentford for next season. The Denmark international’s connection with Thomas Frank was seen as an advantage as the Lilywhites aimed to seal the deal for his signature. And the 31-year-old was also keen to move to N17 as he wanted to test himself in a new environment.
However, Tottenham have faced a massive setback in their efforts to land Norgaard. As per Fabrizio Romano (via X), Arsenal have beaten the Lilywhites in their approach to sign the Denmark international. The Gunners’ €11m proposal has been accepted by Brentford and the 31-year-old has also agreed personal terms with the club.

Now, Daniel Levy should shift his focus on other alternatives as Tottenham look to bring in a new midfielder for next season. It was reported earlier that the Lilywhites are also interested in signing Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich in the summer. The Portugal international has failed to deliver in Germany, and is keen to come back to England for regular playing time.
