Tottenham urged to make summer move for underutilised Liverpool attacker

English pundit would like to see Tottenham Hotspur make a move for Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliot this summer
Tottenham Hotspur are working hard to bring new players in to bolster the squad for their new boss, Thomas Frank.
With the club back in the Champions League, the North London club require a big summer transfer window following what was an extremely underwhelming 2024/25 campaign. Thomas Frank, who has replaced Ange Postecoglou at the helm, has been tasked with helping the club compete for the top four spots in the Premier League.
The Lilywhites must do everything they can to back the Danish tactician in the summer if they want to have a strong 2025/26 season. Club chairman Daniel Levy made a bold statement earlier this month, suggesting that the Europa League success was not enough, and Spurs will now aim for the Premier League and the Champions League in the coming years.
Thus, fans will now hope to see Tottenham make some exciting moves in the ongoing window. The N17-based outfit are closing in on the signing of Japanese defender Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale, after the permanent captures of Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel. After Takai’s acquisition, the club must focus on adding a creative talent to the squad.

And former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has suggested the Lilywhites to make a move for Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliot. The diminutive Englishman’s future at Liverpool is up in the air. He has been at Anfield since joining from Fulham back in 2019, playing close to 150 appearances.
Yet, Harvey Elliot has not managed to cement his place in the first team and managed just 360 minutes of Premier League action this past season under Arne Slot. After the 22-year-old scored a fantastic brace against the Netherlands to put England into the European Under-21 Championships’ final on Thursday, Jamie O’Hara claimed he would happily take Elliot at Tottenham and even compared him to Dejan Kulusevski.
“I would have him at Tottenham, 100 per cent,” O’Hara said on talkSPORT.
“He would play on the right and compete with Brennan Johnson. Kulusevski is quite a similar player to him, but I think Harvey Elliott has something about him. He can play as a number 10, he can play in different areas, he can play in midfield.
“I like Harvey Elliott. There’s a lot to like.”
Indeed, Elliot and Kulusevski share a similar profile, comfortable playing on the right-hand side of midfield or out wide that allows them to chop into their strong left foot and either shoot or make a telling pass in the final third. The Liverpool man has gained solid amount of Premier League experience in six years and won many trophies as well, while his versatility to operate both in midfield and attack could prove valuable for Spurs.

The England Under-21 international also fits into the profile of signings Tottenham have focused on making in recent years. After spending six years at Liverpool and not yet becoming a regular starter, Elliot perhaps would look to make a move away this summer and take his career to another level. And a move to Tottenham would not be a bad idea.
