Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey is open to move to Tottenham amid strong transfer links
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank wants to build on the Europa League success next season as the club aims to compete hard on all four fronts. To achieve that, the Lilywhites must aim to bring in new players in the summer and bolster the quality of the squad for next season. The North London club must also ensure that the right players are sold in the transfer market to make space for new arrivals.
There is a clear need to bring in a new attacker that could provide competition on the flanks. With Heung-Min Son’s form steadily declining, the need for a new winger is imminent as Thomas Frank looks to kickstart a new era at N17. The Danish tactician relies heavily on his wingers, so it is necessary for Daniel Levy to bring in a new wide player that would compete with Son for a spot in the starting eleven.

Daniel Levy needs to act fast in the market if the Lilywhites are looking to close the gap on their rivals. Spurs have already missed out on a few of their intended targets due to Levy’s incompetency, and the North London cannot afford to go through that again as we reach the business end of the summer.
Tottenham are aiming to sign Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey
It was reported earlier that Tottenham are interested in signing Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa in the summer. The Villans are keen to cash-in on the Englishman as they look to avoid a breach of the Profit and Sustainability rules in the summer. Selling Ramsey would be considered as a pure-profit for the Birmingham-based club, and the 24-year-old is also keen to head for pastures new for regular gametime.
Now, Paul Robinson believes that signing Ramsey would be a step in the right direction for Spurs. Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson said,
“For Aston Villa, it would be pure profit because he’s an academy product. I think the big thing with Jacob Ramsey is his contract. He’s got this season and next season left on his contract, so the fee would probably be appealing to Aston Villa, but it wouldn’t be as high as Tottenham are expecting. “
The ex-Spurs player added,
“I think what could push the deal over the line is the profit it gives Aston Villa. Jacob Ramsey is certainly high on Thomas Frank’s list. He’s the type of player who would be a good addition to the starting XI and squad going forward.”
Paul Robinson has suggested that Aston Villa are looking to cash-in on Jacob Ramsey as he is a homegrown player and the transfer fee could be registered as a pure-profit. The ex-player also adds that the Englishman only has two years left on his contract, so Spurs could end up sealing the deal for a lower price. Robinson also points out that Thomas Frank is keen to land the 24-year-old as the Dane believes he would be a good addition to the starting eleven.

It remains to be seen how Daniel Levy manages to land the Aston Villa forward in the coming weeks. Signing Ramsey would certainly elevate the quality of the squad for next season. The 24-year-old can play in multiple positions across the frontline, and he also tends to work hard off-the-ball. Not only that, but the Englishman also has a good injury record.
